ภาพ chest x-ray แสดงให้เห็นว่ามี abnormal opacity อยู่บริเวณ right hilum. ไม่พบว่ามีลักษณะของ air trapping หรือ lung opacity ในบริเวณของ right middle หรือ right lower lobe.
ภาพ CT scan (coronal reformat) แสดงให้เห็น foreign body ที่มี density เข้าได้กับ calcium, ร่วมกับรูปร่าง และ facial CT ที่พบว่ามี missing tooth, ลักษณะดังกล่าวเข้าได้กับ tooth aspiration ใน right lower lobe bronchus.
Tooth Aspiration Following Facial Trauma:
- มีองค์ประกอบสำคัญ 3 อย่าง คึือ facial trauma, loss of gag reflex (ผู้บาดเจ็บไม่รู้สึกตัว) และ missing tooth (either seen clinically or by imaging)
- ต้องทำ chest และ abdomen x-ray ในผู้บาดเจ็บดังที่กล่าว เพื่อดูว่ามี tooth aspiration เข้าไปใน airway หรือ GI tract
- ส่วนใหญ่ aspiration เข้าไปใน right bronchus
